Springtime Flooding Caused by Snowmelt in Saskatchewan

Project Information

Date: April 11, 2023

Location: Saskatchewan, Canada

Project Summary

Flooding caused by melting snow and ice has been affecting Swift Current Creek in Saskatchewan. The neighborhoods surrounding the Swift Current Creek experienced quite a bit of snowfall and ice accumulation this past winter and early spring.

Being that this community lives near the creek, they’re able to anticipate that the creek will flood. In preparation for the melting season they installed TrapBag Barriers. Due to their preparation, the community was able to mitigate damages to their infrastructure and divert flood waters from the homes in the area.
